These engine cooling fan circuits and schematic diagrams apply for 1994 Volvo 850 and 960 series. The engine cooling fan system consists of engine cooling fan motor, engine cooling fan relay, A/C pressure sensor (located behind right headlamp), fusible link, starter motor, battery, control module motronic and air conditioning system. All vehicles with are equipped with an electronic cooling fan. On 850 and 960, cooling fan is operated by a relay, either in response to engine temperature signal received by Motronic control unit or directly by pressure switches mounted in A/C high pressure line. The 1994 Honda Accord Coupe Fan Control consists of following parts: engine coolant temperature switch, radiator fan, condenser fan, radiator fan control module, condenser fan relay, A/C compressor clutch relay, underhood fuse/relay box, and radiator fan relay. 
The 1988 Jeep Cherokee, Comanche, and Wagoneer 4.0L engine series use an auxiliary fan. The auxiliary fan is controlled by a relay mounted on the left inner fender panel. When coolant temperature is more than 190°F/88°C, the radiator coolant temperature switch closes allowing current from the ignition switch to flow through the fan relay to ground activating the relay. When relay is activated, battery voltage is supplied to the fan causing it to operate. When coolant temperature is below 190°F/88°C, the radiator coolant temperature switch opens preventing the relay from being grounded and electric cooling fan from being energized.
